Thursday Spring Season

Event Information

Volleyball ACT's Recreational Indoor competitions are for all players looking to participate in a fun, friendly and social competition. These mixed-gender competitions are designed to meet your exercise and team competition needs at a fun, recreational level. The on-site bar and restaurant at Pick Up Stix is perfect for post-match pizza or beers.

NOTE: Please note that first preference for entry in the competition will be given to the returning teams from the 2026 Autumn Recreational League. New teams that nominate themselves through this form will receive an email confirming their entry in the competition, based on final team numbers and available spots.

Competition Dates

Commencing Thursday, 23rd July 2026 and finishing on Thursday, 24th September 2026.

Divisions Offered - Mixed Divisions 1, 2 & 3

Competition length: 10 weeks

The competition format will be reviewed at the end of the season to determine the effectiveness of alignment with the school term for the recreational league.

Division rules

• There will be a maximum of 10 teams per division.
• IMPORTANT NOTE: The promotion/relegation system (top/bottom two) will NOT be used after the conclusion of the 2026 Autumn Season. In this nomination form for the 2026 Spring Season, teams can nominate themselves in their desired division. VACT reserves the right to merge/move teams between divisions in the 2026 Spring Season if divisions are oversubscribed.

Team Composition

• All mixed teams MUST have at least 2 male and 2 female players.
• All other players can be of any gender with no restrictions.

*Exemptions for team composition can be reviewed by the office upon receipt of email communication, justifying the team to be exempted from the above team composition rules for the duration of the season.

NOTE: Volleyball ACT has also created a subs-page for VACT Recreational & Beach Leagues. I would recommend all of you and your team members to join this subs page. If your team is short of players for any matches and does not have extra players, you can put a message in this group! It would be a great way to also connect with other people!

Added benefit, you do not need to pay extra for filling in on any team! The only requirement to play is to ensure that the fill-in player is registered with Volleyball ACT for insurance purposes (one-day membership or full membership).

Competition Fees

Team entry cost - $1,200 per team 

We will be sending the team contact an invoice after the teams are confirmed and before the end of Week 1 of the competition. Teams not fully paid by the end of Week 3 will not be permitted to play until payment is made.

Player Registration 

All players must be registered with VACT before their first match. Registration is on an individual basis and is separate from the team's competition fees. Any team found to have played an unregistered player will forfeit the match.

Finals Qualification 

To qualify for finals, a player must have participated in at least 3 matches (30% ) for that team during the regular season.
