The Lyneham Beach Facility — Your One-Stop Guide
About the Venue
The Lyneham Beach Facility opened in November 2015, led and funded by the ACT Government in partnership with Volleyball ACT, who own and operate it. It's the only facility of its kind in the Canberra region — a true multi-sport sand venue that has hosted beach volleyball, soccer, handball, netball, athletics, boot camps, touch football and rugby union.
It's flexible enough to run single or multi-court sessions, scaling from casual social play up to full tournaments, corporate days, or even parties. The facility is open to the public, community groups, and corporate hire — not just Volleyball ACT members.
Getting There
Address: Thurbon Road, Lyneham ACT 2602 — inside Southwell Park, directly behind the ACT Netball Centre.
Access: Public site — courts are outdoors on the sand and open to hire by anyone, not just club members.
Cost: $32.50 per hour, per court.
How to Book a Court
- Send a booking enquiry — Email events@volleyballact.com.au with your preferred date, time, and court requirements. Please include:
- Full name
- Email address
- Mobile number
- VA ID (if you're a Volleyball ACT member)
- We'll confirm availability — Once we've checked and reserved your court, you'll receive a payment link by email. Check your inbox and junk/spam folder if it doesn't appear.
- Pay to secure your booking — Once payment is received, we'll send your 4-digit lockbox access code approximately 30 minutes before your booking start time.
- Didn't receive your code? — Email events@volleyballact.com.au and we'll sort it out promptly.
