Terms Of Registration
1. Payment & Refunds
Fees are due as per the payment schedule agreed with VACT. Refunds will only be considered in exceptional circumstances (e.g. serious injury or illness preventing participation) and are at the sole discretion of VACT/Canberra Heat management. Administrative or already-incurred costs (uniforms, travel bookings, tournament entries) may be non-refundable.
2. Training Commitment
Athletes are expected to attend all scheduled training sessions (Tuesdays at Wanniassa School and Fridays at Harrison School) unless otherwise arranged with the coaching staff. Regular unexplained absences may affect team selection.
3. Travel
Athletes selected for interstate rounds (Sydney, Perth) must be available for the full travel period as outlined in the AVSL schedule, including nominated departure and return dates. Parents/guardians of junior athletes will be provided with full travel and accommodation details in advance.
4. Code of Conduct
Athletes are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all training sessions, matches, and while travelling as a representative of Canberra Heat and VACT. Breaches of conduct may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from the program.
5. Medical & Insurance
Athletes must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries prior to commencing training. It is the athlete's (or parent/guardian's) responsibility to ensure appropriate personal injury/insurance cover is in place. Canberra Heat/VACT will facilitate access to strength & conditioning and medical support as part of the program but is not liable for injuries sustained outside of organised sessions.
6. Uniform & Equipment
Uniforms provided as part of the program remain the property of the athlete for the season but must be worn as directed for all official training, matches, and events. Additional personal equipment is the athlete's own responsibility.
7. Photography & Media
By participating, athletes (or their parent/guardian) consent to Canberra Heat/VACT using photos and video taken during training, matches, and events for promotional and social media purposes, unless a written opt-out is provided.
8. Changes to the Program
VACT/Canberra Heat reserves the right to amend training schedules, venues, coaching staff, or the AVSL round schedule where necessary, and will provide athletes with as much notice as possible.
9. Acceptance
By submitting the registration form and/or program fee, the athlete (or their parent/guardian, if under 18) confirms they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
