Dear Members,
I just wanted to provide you with a Covid update in regard to the Lyneham Hockey Facilities and suggestions for training facilities.
Please note for each separate training facility or school hall we advise clubs to check with their facility provider for any specific requirements.
As you are aware ACT Government has made masks mandatory for certain environments. Hockey ACT has made the decision that masks are mandatory in all Hockey ACT Facilities whether you are inside or outside. Hockey ACT has advised Volleyball ACT that they will err on the side of caution so we have followed that advice for any training or use of the Indoor courts at Lyneham. Volleyball ACT would also like to suggest that clubs and members err on the side of caution and wear masks when attending any Volleyball training or events.
Follow all ACT Government guidelines - Home - COVID-19 (act.gov.au)
Outdoors at Lyneham Hockey Centre:
You are required to wear a mask when entering or exiting the facility.
Indoor Sports:
You are required to wear a mask into the venue. You can remove mask to play/train once the players/participants from the match prior have vacated the field of play. Before exiting the indoor space after training/playing you are required to place mask on to exit the facility. Coaches, managers, team officials, and spectators are required to wear a mask for the duration. Umpires can remove masks to officiate matches.
VACT Office:
Masks are mandatory to enter the facility. Volleyball ACT office will be closed to visitors until the 12th of July.
Check-in CBR: Check In CBR App - COVID-19 (act.gov.au)
This is compulsory for all users of the facilities. All people whether they are staff, participants, officials, or spectators are required to check in upon entry to the facilities. Please ensure that you communicate to all users of the facility mandates this as a requirement whether they are staying for 1 minute or all day. No exceptions!
This probably won’t be the last update for this week unfortunately and once we have clarification for the week starting 12 July we will be able to provide a specific update around Spring League Competition Requirements.
If you believe that you have exemptions to these requirements listed above please do not hesitate to contact me.
