GOOD NEIGHBOURS INVITATIONAL HONOURS DIVISION

The Good Neighbours Invitational Honours Division is the premier high-performance division of GNVT26, bringing together some of the strongest Men’s and Women’s volleyball teams from across Australia.

Designed for teams looking to compete at the highest level of the tournament, the Honours Division offers a genuine best-versus-best competition experience — combining high-intensity matches, elite-level facilities and a finals series that rewards performance.

With only 8 places available in the Men’s Honours Division and 8 places in the Women’s Honours Division, selection will be competitive.

This is your opportunity to put your team forward and test yourselves against some of the best teams in the country.

Competition Details

📅 Dates: Friday 27 November – Sunday 29 November 2026
📍 Venue: Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) – Volleyball Hall, Canberra
🏐 Divisions: Men’s Honours & Women’s Honours
👥 Team Capacity: 8 teams per division
🎯 Minimum Matches: 3 matches guaranteed

Competition Format

The 8 teams in each division will be split into two pools of four teams.

Teams will compete through the pool stage before progressing into the finals series:

Pool Stage → Semi-Finals → Bronze Medal Match / Grand Final

Every team is guaranteed a minimum of three matches, with the opportunity to progress through to the medal matches.

Match Format

Pool and preliminary-stage matches will be played as Best of 5 sets in a timed two-hour competition window:

• 10-minute warm-up
• 110 minutes of playing time
• 2-hour total timeslot

The timed format has been introduced to maintain a high standard of competition while allowing the tournament schedule to run efficiently.

The Grand Final will be an untimed Best of 5 sets match.

For GNVT26, teams are invited to apply for consideration for one of the limited Honours Division positions.

With only 8 Men's teams and 8 Women's teams selected, the application process gives teams from across Australia the opportunity to put their best foot forward.

Applications will be reviewed by Volleyball ACT, with selections based on the overall strength and suitability of each team for the Honours Division.

How to Apply

Teams wishing to be considered will need to complete the Honours Division Application Form and provide relevant supporting information/evidence about their team.

Your application should help demonstrate:

• The team's current level of competition
• Recent competition results and achievements
• The standard of players within the team
• Relevant state, national or high-level competition experience
• Any other information that demonstrates why your team is suited to the Honours Division

Selection Process

1. Submit your application
   Complete the Honours Division Application Form and provide the requested supporting information.

2. Application Review
   Volleyball ACT will review all applications and assess teams against the requirements and competitive standard of the Honours Division.
3. Selection
   A maximum of 8 teams per division will be selected.
4. Confirmation
   Selected teams will be contacted directly with confirmation and registration information.

Submitting an application does not guarantee selection. Volleyball ACT reserves the right to select teams it believes will contribute to the competitive standard and overall quality of the Honours Division.

Duty Requirements

To maintain the professional standard of the competition, participating teams will be expected to fulfil allocated duty requirements throughout the tournament.

Volleyball ACT will allocate accredited first referees wherever possible. Where a first referee cannot be allocated, the team rostered for duty will be required to fulfil the full duty roster.

The draw will be structured so that teams are not rostered for duty immediately before their own match wherever possible.
